Protect Our Elderly

Thank you for visiting our website! Please browse and let us know if you have any questions about our program or if we can help you in some way.

How We Ensure Safety Of Our Elderly

Our Mission

We ensure safety of home-bound, isolated elderly through friendship and by being a good neighbor. Our volunteers receive training to recognize elder abuse and neglect and learn about community resources so that we may protect our elderly.

Our History

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Good Neighbor Program was established in 2017 to reach out to isolated, home-bound seniors. Our Good Neighbor volunteers build friendships with our elderly. So far, we have reached out to over 300 seniors in our community.

Connecting to Resources

Our Good Neighbor volunteers reach out to learn the needs of our home-bound elderly residents and connect them with valuable resources in Douglas County, Nevada. In this way, we are better able to protect them.

Sheriff Dan Coverley, Douglas County, Minden
